Typical running costs

Once you have purchased your home in Florida there are several licenses that must be obtained and rules and regulations that need to be followed.

Florida State sales tax license	$5 one off fee
Florida County sales tax license	$5 one off fee
Occupational license	$30 per year
Hotel/Motel license	$170 per year

Smoke detectors in every sleeping area	$60 per smoke
Locks fitted to front door & garage access door	$45 each
Emergency light fitted in living room	$125 one off fee
Approved fire extinguisher	$55 one off fee
Fire extinguisher check/charge each year	$25 per year

There is a requirement by law to pay Tourist sales tax of 7% to the State and 5% to the County of all rental monies collected.
